at Gaviota State Beach
Join the California Nature Art Museum for a nature journaling session on Sunday, July 6th 2025 from 2:00PM-4:00PM at Gaviota State Park Beach.
This program will include a short introduction to nature journaling, a group warm-up activity, and an invitation to either walk on the the beach and look for shells, driftwood, algae, and intertidal life, or examine recent coastal findings at the CalNAM artists table. All participants are welcome to enjoy use of CalNAM watercolors, watercolor paper, pencils, and brushes or to bring their own supplies.
The CalNAM group will meet at near the bathrooms and picnic tables at 2:00PM, and will begin the session promptly at 2:10PM.
What to Bring
Reusable water bottle(s) with plenty of water
Sunscreen, sun protection (hat, UV shirt), sunglasses
Sturdy shoes that you don’t mind getting wet
Blanket or beach chair
(Optional) Camera
(Optional) Nature journal and pencils/watercolors/etc.
Ticket price is $5 for CalNAM Members and $10 for CalNAM Non-Members, per participant, all supplies included. Children are free when reserved with a paid adult ticket. Advance registration is required. Tickets can be purchased below:
Parking at Gaviota State Beach is $10 per vehicle. Please be prepared to pay at the kiosk upon arrival. Please note, dogs are not permitted on the beach or in buildings.
