Wildling Museum and Return to Freedom Collaborating on Exhibit Featuring Wild Horses

Wild Spirit: Horses in Art

January 17, 2015 – June 1, 2015

Co-presented with Return to Freedom Wild Horse Sanctuary.

Solvang, CA ~ The Wildling Museum and Return to Freedom Wild Horse Sanctuary collaborated on Wild Spirit: Horses in Art, an exhibition featuring wild horses in a variety of mediums. Paintings, photographs, drawings, and sculptures by historic and contemporary artists included Douglas Parshall, Edward Borein, Howard Warshaw, Anders Aldrin, Nancy Holly, Suzan Hamilton Todd, Pat Roberts, and more. Visitors experienced being amongst a herd of horses in Elissa Kline’s Ghost Herd installation. Nothing can compare to the natural beauty and spirituality of images of wild horses or better yet, real live wild horses. In 2015 visitors to the Central Coast of California got both, by visiting the Wildling Museum in Solvang, CA as well as observing live wild horses at Return to Freedom Mustang Sanctuary near Lompoc, CA.

The exhibit was on view from January 17, 2015 – June 1, 2015 at the Wildling Museum (1511-B Mission Drive, Solvang CA 93463).
