Santa Barbara Printmakers: Wild Places in Print

The Wildling Museum is pleased to announce Santa Barbara Printmakers: Wild Places in Print, a new Barbara Goodall Education Center exhibition featuring nature and wildlife-inspired works by the Santa Barbara Printmakers (SBP) group. The exhibition is on view October 9, 2019 through January 13, 2020 in the Wildling Museum’s third floor classroom.
Soaring birds, colorful layered foliage, a delicate barn owl, coastal vistas, and bold graphic butterflies are among nearly 100 different prints on view.
The exhibition features work by more than 30 members of the Santa Barbara Printmakers, a group of artists working in a range of printmaking techniques that span traditional and digital methods. Artists created works inspired by native Central Coast wildlife, vegetation, landscapes, and abstractions using techniques ranging from drypoint, linocuts, monoprints, monotypes, relief woodcuts, screenprinting, polymer intaglio, and more.
An opening reception with the artists will take place Saturday, October 26, 2019, 3 – 4:30 p.m. at the Wildling Museum. To RSVP, email julie@wildlingmuseum.org or call (805) 686-8315.

About the Santa Barbara Printmakers
The Santa Barbara Printmakers (SBP) is a group of artists dedicated to creating and presenting prints that are made using hand and press printing techniques: etching, drypoint, monotype, monoprint, woodblock, collagraph, linocut, clay, lithography, serigraphy, transfer, and digital programming.
