The Woodblock Print Workshop introduced students to the use of Japanese wood blocks, tools, paper, and hand printing. Students learned about transferring designs to a block, registration, carving, and basic printing techniques. Students worked on a 6” X 8” single color block print. All materials were provided.
Santa Barbara artist, Sara Woodburn, studied textile design at University of California at Davis and in Tokyo, Japan. She has taught workshops to all ages throughout New Mexico and in Santa Barbara. Her woodblock prints have been exhibited at the Wildling Museum, Channing Peake Gallery, and Sullivan Goss- An American Gallery. She is a member of the Santa Barbara Printmakers and the Santa Barbara Mesa Artists.
