The Wildling Museum is excited to present Animal Drawing and Painting at Ease and in Motion led by John Iwerks. In this workshop you will combine your love of animals and their movements in drawings and in paint. This workshop will provide photographic references that capture the movement of animals and 3-dimensional animal mounts to inspire. Emphasis will be on animal anatomy at ease and in motion and understanding the basics of gesture in a variety of moods. Some art supplies will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own art supplies and photo references (pets, etc.) A suggested supplies list will be provided upon registration. This class will be offered twice: one workshop is for adults and one is for teens. Register for a workshop online, stop in at the Wildling, or call 805-686-8315.
About John Iwerks
John Iwerks is an experienced local teacher and artist who is affiliated with The Oak Group and the Santa Barbara Art Association. His work, “A Mighty Oak: An Oak Habitat” mural, is a permanent feature at the Wildling Museum. In addition to landscape painting, cartooning and animation have been a natural part of his life, allowing him to bring a sense of humor into illustrations, t-shirt designs, and ceramic sculptures. He has a family background with Walt Disney Studios to thank for this inspiration.
